Get Involved

There are several ways you can get involved with Northern Lights Paranormal. Donating your time and talents, donating money, equipment or supplies, and by attending our public events.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact us!

As you may already be aware, Northern Lights Paranormal does not accept or ask for any form of payment for it's services. However, we do accept and appreciate your donations. Most, if not all, of our expenses are paid for by our investigators and researchers. Normal operating expenses, such as buying video tape, film processing, and fuel, can be expensive. Your monetary donation will be recognized on this website and will strictly be used for the purchase of equipment and/or normal investigation expenses.

Another great way to help us it to donate new supplies or your unwanted equipment. Items that you may be considering selling at a garage sale may be of use to us. Check our list below to see what items we are seeking. If you have something you think we might be interested in and don't see it listed, please alert us.

Join a Northern Lights Paranormal Team

Do you share a desire to research and investigate paranormal subjects? The NLP Team has it's rewards and disciplines. Membership is open to anyone 18 years old or older. Persons under 18 years old may participate in NLP activities, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.
All Members will be required to authorize us to conduct a criminal background investigation. Northern Lights Paranormal will consider all applicants without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, social or economic status, education, external appearance or any other status protected by law.

Membership requests are reviewed during three enrollment months each year; March, July, and November. To be considered for the next enrollment, your application must be received no later than the first day of the enrollment month. To ensure we are recruiting people that are serious about paranormal research, Northern Lights Paranormal has established a one time filing fee for all new applicants. Application filing costs are $25 and are non-refundable. Waivers for the application filing fee are available and must be submitted along with any other requested paperwork with the application.

Applicants are selected by three panels; the Assembly, the Council, and the Founders. The decisions of the panels are final. However, if the applicant would like to reapply for membership, the application filing fee will be waived. All members are required to have certification in First Aid, Basic Life Saving techniques or equivalent skills. This certification should be attained prior to the application review but may be completed after acceptance.

New Members are required to complete 130 hours of instruction and have First Aid, Basic Life Saving techniques or equivalent skill certification completed before becoming an Active Member and participating with investigations or conducting research. Of course, there is always consideration for members with time constraints and limited financial resources. These members will be treated on a case by case basis.

These measures have been put in place to protect the integrity our team and empower the Active Members ~ after all, it is their team you are requesting to join. Also, for the comfort and protection of all Members, the use of tobacco or alcohol products are never permitted at official NLP functions. As an Active Member you will be able to participate in all NLP activities and receive an official members only NLP T-Shirt.

Our Threefold Mission

  • To assist people that are experiencing paranormal phenomena and help them understand their experiences.

  • To promote collaboration of evidence and contribute to the field of paranormal research as a whole to better our understanding of anomalous phenomena.

  • To educate the general public and those individuals seeking to study the field by encouraging partnerships among various organizations and by providing learning opportunities.

Restrictions

We will not allow membership to persons under 18 years old. Also, persons who have a criminal history involving crimes against other persons, armed assault, sexual assault, crimes against children or any felony will be automatically barred from membership or volunteering with Northern Lights Paranormal. All other crimes will be considered on a case by case basis. The protection of the client and our members and the integrity of Northern Lights Paranormal will always be our first consideration.
